The Annual Mize Watermelon Festival is held to benefit the fire department. Below, is pictured a small part of the 31st Annual Mize Watermelon Festival. Included in the Festival this year was a gospel sing on Friday night, a carnival and an antique car show, and great entertainment, plus Shenandoah performed on Saturday night!! Mize had a record attendance in 2009 of near 6000 people.
The fire station at left burned about a week before the festival, so the proceeds were especially needed. The town of Mize and the Mize Fire Department express their appreciation to all who attended and made this fun event a great success!!
